Now the Manipal group looks to become the jack-of-all-trades by starting Offshore BPO firm with American JV
Indian Education and Healthcare major, Manipal group has joined hands with Florida based company, Sonix to offer healthcare Offshore BPO services with a projected workforce of 700 people. This Offshore BPO arrangement will exclusively focus on the healthcare sector, as it is a hugely untapped market and has a lot of scope.
It will operate out of an Offshore BPO center from Bangalore, christened as Manipal Omega Healthcare Management Services. Sonix, is also into the healthcare segment and is a provider of outpatient diagnostic and treatment services. It will start off with an initial investment of $2 million for both the US and the Bangalore center and could further add another $2 million in 2005. Sonix is expecting revenues of around Rs.15 crores in the period 2004-05.
This Offshore BPO setting will provide services including medical billing, medical coding, transcription and tele-radiology to both healthcare providers such as hospitals as well as healthcare service providers.
