India has become a specialist in offering Offshore BPO services

If now any firm wants to go for Offshore BPO services, the most logical and the most obvious choice is India. That is the kind of impact India has had in the Offshore BPO market. The year 2002 was good, but the year 2003 was better, and the year 2004 is predicted to be even better. The revenue increased from slightly less than $1 billion in 2002 to $1.2 billion in 2003 and in 2004 the revenue is all poised to grow further. That represents a 66 per cent of the offshore BPO market.

But not only India, but countries including Poland, Russia, the Philippines and Sri Lanka are also gunning for a share of the Offshore BPO market. Though India is dominant at this precise moment, it shouldn't get too complacent. Other English speaking countries are gunning for the Offshore BPO pie. They are also ramping up their delivery capability and putting into place aggressive investment-friendly policies to attract Offshore BPO investment. And so India should constantly keep innovating and become more aggressive.

The growth in Offshore BPO is going to be significant in 2004. Because already more than one-third of companies with more than 1,000 employees obtain Offshore BPO services from US-based BPO providers and this figure will only increase in coming future.
