US Firms to Offshore more HR Work

A recent survey conducted by the Conference Board indicates that a majority of North American and European firms that currently outsource one or more human resource functions, said that they would do so again, which proves that Business Process Outsourcing has finally made its mark. The survey released by The Conference Board says that out of the 71 surveyed companies that currently outsource human resource functions said they would either extend or negotiate contracts with their current outsourcing providers, while another 29 percent said that they will put their existing outsourced services out for a new bid. But none indicated that they plan to take services back in-house. With every passing day, Business Process Outsourcing is carving a niche for itself.

The Conference Board’s second study traces the benefits of HR outsourcing and changes in the HR marketplace. The new study confirmed that Business Process Outsourcing is now firmly embedded as part of HR service delivery. Statistics revealed that 91 percent of respondents have achieved or partially achieved their HR outsourcing objectives. Only nine percent of respondents said they are entirely against outsourcing some or all of their major human resource functions, compared with 23 percent in the previous year’s survey.
