BPO Gains Support
In a recent move, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce supported offshore outsourcing, by declaring that, the recent economic downturn, domestic business impediments and continued uncertainty are the primary reasons for recent job loses and not the movement of work offshore. The World Bank has strongly favoured outsourcing of jobs and free movement of temporary workers in the mutual interest of high-income countries like US and developing countries like India and China. A recent survey conducted by Cap Gemini-IDC revealed that HR and Finance and Accounting outsourcing are expected to overshadow IT outsourcing over the next five years. According to a report filed by Cutting Edge Information, a US based business-consulting firm, off shoring continues to play an increasingly significant role in financial services call center operations. For example, to reallocate financial and human resources, the Bank of America outsourced some of its back office jobs to India.
